Asmaa pointed to very important things in post of "LOST ASSETS" in general discussion:
first idea: Putting air coolers is better idea.... as they are more nature friendly... and they dont isolate u from rest of population as my professor used to do (sitting in his room and locking himself fearing that his AC chill is not leaking out,,,) u will need to put notices regarding maintenance (as u will normally do any way inshallah)
problem with water coolers is finding location, putting holes in walls and maintenance and possible increase in suffocation with that...(wet and humid air)
fans in corridors in brilliant idea again,,, up along the walls... both sides... as u know they work really well if u got two coolers at the start and end of corridor to bring net temp down...
second idea about queueing , u can install small printer machine with numbers being issued in the start as people turn up and then some body can shout the number... i am not sure how practical is in ur circumstances there now,,, here in uk thats waht we use,,, if the area is not queue friendly then we just plant a machine near entry and people press a button and get a ticket with number,,, in original form here in uk, the number gets displayed over a digital screen but that is far more difficult plan(if u people are willing to try that i can send u a short self made video clip of things that how it works)..
third thing that asma rightly mentioned is patient education,,, there are two ways either in person or the way i like it is use of digital media.. tv and vcr. once the donations put ur balance towards positive, then its worth putting tv and videos on patient education and disease process and prevention incluing best way using treatment like concept of inhales or disposable needs etc... u can use this tele for advice for queue making as well...
i think all three things are brilliant and i am happy that alhamdulillah current team is achieving the best possible direction. well done umar, asmaa, furqan, ayyaz welldone!

i think bhai fan in corridors and coolers in offices is a brilliant idea! i have asked asma to make a project on that and she would present its expenses and feasibility report very soon and present it to us, then we would try to complete this project as soon as possible! as far as queing is concerned, we have that system in banks and in opd, they take the chits from patients and then announce patients' name in order they recieve the chits and then the patient enters, if we give nos then only difference would be that the person at the door would announce nos in place of patients' name anyways do explain this to us in a bit more detail, guide us a bit more about this new system! about patient education i think we need to wait a bit until we have enough funds!

thats all ok, but realistically as nadeem pointed out that you really need some ground work as to where you can install all the coolers, i would like to make another suggestion which i have suggested to umar in my post that they should try and contact previous presidents and also ask them to give the name of there sincere members at there time and then contact everyone and invite them to join SPWS again, there were few more suggestion and i hope umer can update everyone about it so far guys you r going in the right direction, so well done and keep it up

i dont think MS or AMS would mind us installing fans and coolers all over in the OPD without taking even a single penny from them!!!

its good to see all this im out of station now so its not posssible for me to say any thing about expanses.can help in this regard will be highly appreciated.
abt the que/chit/announcement sys a simpler solution can be that we provide sitting arrangement in opd hall so that the only next 5 patient can sit out side door while rest in the hall in this way coridoors willl be spacious

@asma baji this is a good idea. but u knw what when someone is in pain he is looking 4 remedy n will look to come in the doc room as soon as possible. this wud mean that we wud be needing extra manpower whish wud guide the ppl to sit in the sitting area n wait 4 their turn.......initially this will b a labourous task but eventually in some months time i hope ppl will get accustomed to it.inshallah

hi guys seating plan is a good idea but i cant exactly remember the dimensions of OPD hall and corridor,, ,i do remember that their used to be benches outside the rooms and some chairs near surgical outdoor.. although there is hardly any thing in front of society,, that can be a good place to put some fixed chairs,,,, and in front of psyciatry chairs,,,, that might give u some potential space for ur further media compaign and tv installation,,, that would be another good gesture on SPWS front towards hospital

Aoa everyone, I met AMS today. He is a very very nice man, a thorough gentleman!!! He not only welcomed us but also promised to help us in the fullest manner. I was quite pleased by his good gestures. I talked to him about all our OPD’ s projects of installing water coolers, air coolers, fans, renovating washrooms etc and he was very happy on all this. He requested me to work on following projects:
1- installing fans all over in the OPD 2- installing water dispensers in some of he major rooms of the OPD for both patients and doctors 3- installing exhaust fans in every room of OPD 4- Installing some new signboards for some new rooms in OPD e.g Gynae OPD etc. 5- renovating a special children’s play room and providing an AC for this room
This room is present in room no 42. All the disabled and special children referred by the Paeds Psychiatry Dept stay in that room and they play in that room with toys. It’s the only room in Mayo Hospital where children can stay and play with each other.
He told me that he would provide us with all the labour, we just need to provide all the material and they have the staff to get them fixed. I requested him to send a formal application to SPWS for help and support in all these projects with details of material and stuff required alongwith rough cost estimation so that we can start collecting funds for these purposes.
They would send us application in about 2 or 3 days, also they would e-mail us the details of these projects in a week. As far as renovating washrooms are concerned, he said he would co-operate with us fully in this matter.
Now I want to have feedback from u people, what do u say about this project? In a few days he would also send me other details, I would also post them as soon as i receive them.
I request all our dedicated seniors and creative juniors to express their views and opinions regarding all this……
