Now we would start taking project reports from the seniors, members and post-holders in a much more systematic manner, here is just a pattern explaining what should be present in your project report:
-Name -Location of Project -Its proposed starting date (when do u want it to be started) -Time duration required for that project - required material or assets -Its approximate expenses and their source (if u can arrange any sponsor or donation) -its feasibility report -its use and advantage to poor people/patients/hospital/students or community -its advantage to the society

i have an idea,
to do some thing for students also, why other societies are liked because all they do is for students, we should also do some for the students,
installation of ac in histo lab etc so that students also know that we are doing some thing

Well that would not be installation of just "one AC" in the histo lab; you'd have to install about 4 Air Conditioners in the lab and that would be very expensive. Besides we do live anyway without ACs in histo lab and/or other labs so that money would be better spent on patients.
The idea of doing something for the students is a good idea. Incentives such as preparing doing some sort of research, and preparing a report and getting it published somewhere even if it's just a small scale magazine and/or the SPWS Newsletter, would attract more members. (Certificates do work here!).

"other societies are liked because all they do is for students" i agree with it now what we can do for students? how about asking management to keep library open from 8 to 2 30 or improve the quality of books there so that students can access them easily----------------i know it sounds like---!!! or we can organise clinically oriented MCQ based activities for each class or give the tip abt handling each professor/favourite questions on the other hand can organise some fun activity. what u say??

what about having a musical show like last year! but this whole year i have been trying to convince sir Khalid Jameel for a musical show or a seminar...even we got a permission from Principal for inviting Governor as Chief Guest....but then sir Khalid Jameel was saying it cant happen due to political crises in the country and it does not look nice to have musical shows in such circumstances......... anyways i would try to convince sir for having a musical show with special children on the Independence Day occassion for society's promotion in college thanks to asad's idea of having a Independence Musical Show for special children!

Sir Khalid Jameel is right. Organizing musical shows in situations such as today where yet another bomb blast took place in Islamabad, just doesn't sound good at all. And by the way we can do something unique that would benefit the students; a musical show comes, and goes leaving only the recorded video as a "benefit".
Asma baji's idea of MCQ activities caused another thing to come to my mind: the best thing would be to actually create a database of VIVA Questions for each year/subject by asking the students who have already given the VIVA. For example the VIVA Question database collected from 2nd year professional exam can be of benefit to the 1st year ones when they come to 2nd year.

i think concert is a bad idea... we did 3 in our time and never felt good... maximum income ,, 70000 and loads of effort wasted.. i like idea of educational activities..
building website for MCQs or even book publishing like friends physiology is not a bad idea.. u dont have to do all that .. u can ask best students of ur class.. they can give u ur notes ,, get them reviewed and publish them ,,, would not cost much ,,
do educational activities as u gave people certificates for asthma conference... do small courses like xrays , ultrasound and other things,,, may be surgical techniques,, when i am coming i can tackle surgical coaching as well as radiological aspects...
i am in process of making a website called xraysmadeeasy.co.uk... it would be complete inshallah next month,,, and will be updated constantly... u can see it later in august 2007 and suggest it to ur friends,,,
i would be extremely reluctant to buy AC for student,, just to please them ,, i just cant concieve it ,, any way i am against ACs .. these are fundamentally wrong devices,,, environment unfriendly devices(sounds weired ... but its very basic thought .. u can ignore me as my family does.. ha ha ) ....

library books is another good idea
after a very sad demise of one my class fellow sabeen nazi , few people in our class (led by mubashar) made a fund in her name and donated books some to library.. if u want to do some thing ,, u can donate books for library... its another good idea

i think we are in a much batter condition than yhe patients in opd or other wards!so we must spend all the money on them!!
remember that we are not working to get popular among the students!!!

thats exactly what i would say instinctively... though i will leave it to cabinet but i think student projects should not involve expenditure from themoney we have collected in the name of patients.... otherway is to ask for donation for students welfare,,, and dont forget to tell me the response ;D salamz

well bhai i totally agree with u, we cant spend the money taken from the people in the name of patients, to be spend on students. waise bhi KE students are in a 100 times better condition than the Mayo Patients! u come to know this when u become a Mayo Patient and u cannot find a washroom in the whole Emergency when u r suffering from Gastoenteritis and u cant find a drip stand when u have drip in your arm and your friend has to hold the drip in his hand high above for 30 minutes. now if we want to do something for the students! it should be something like shows or seminars, lectures etc
