After meeting some of the old post-holders I have come to know that we used to have a lot of stuff that is no more with us e.g we used to have
- an ambulance in early 90s - a van in late 90s - a projector - society's 8 cupboards, 4 tables and much more furniture - our office that is nowadays office of DMS i.e room no 19A - 2 TVs
moreover SOBD in 1999 also used to have some stuff like
-freezers -fridges -furniture -a large no of blood bags
that have been lost, any one has some idea where are these assets now
I tried a lot to take back our old bigger office i.e DMS office nowadays but the old AMS Dr. Aashiq says that we have to show him any document or proof showing that we were alloted that room, i tried a lot to search the office for any such document but could not find any. if someone among our old post holders, has any idea about that document plz let us know.
waise i would try once more as the old AMS has been posted and i came to know he is a very nice man, he came to the office today and encouraged us for the welfare work we do....
or if u have any suggestions about how to recover all this, then plz put it forward...............

Nadeem bhai.. trying to retrieve those things in the past turned into a nightmare.. so as long as we have a room... furniture.. and funds to get work done and good relations with people who allow us to get the work done.. that would be great... lets not chase after ghosts.... and rock the boat.....try to get those things umer.. but please just keep it smooth....and focus on the future... and be careful with the SPWS assets in the future.. what do u think nadeem bhai..? i am just protecting the juniors from the besti and dismay i had to go thru... and its better to move forwad now..

nice to see this discussion forum. Room 19A was given to us in 1988 untill Mumtaz Hassan become president /Marshalla administrator of college and hospital . There was no as such documentation for allocation . We may have old photos or magzine which shows picture of room. there was information networking through that room and on TV was placed in waiting area mounted in /on the wall. We used to run educational videos. As far as I remember there was two VCRs and Two TV.I heard after I left one VCR was stolen by one of our great sucessors while using for personal use, I donot remmber which session. But any way those TV and VCR were now 20 years old . Only thing you should fight and try to get back is ROOM and amublance/van . In my opinion you should look for new donation related to Van. I was looking your expenditure list which works out 1000 euro per years . If you are able to show me your accounts I can sponsor that amount every year. Hows that and it is possible that all senior members and founder contributor who are settled abroad last few year which includes myself and like Yasir etc can become advisors or donors by donating regular Zakat in that amount. I you are able to built client in this way funding issue can be sorted out. One more suggetion which you people should discuss with Dr Khalid Jamil or your advisors to add one or two overseas member at your boeard of dircetor or advisors. Some suggestions I am going to post this on online yahoo group . ADD OTHER MEMBERS TO THE GROUP TO ACTIVATE THE PROCESS. BALL IS ROLLING NOW KEEP IT UP

van/ambulance is good idea but i feel far more imp than these things is arrangement of fans in corridoors and watercoolers in outdoor if possible(BIG IF...)arrange AC/watercoolers in the rooms for docs. Its horribly congested and hot in there nowadays.we should develop a system of que/bell system so that all the pts should not crowd infront of doors ,fight over their turns and block the way for other patients and docs.truely speaking i feel that both docs and students resist to go to OPD in this hot weather b/c of suffocation. I do appreciate and respect docs working in OPD but if we can provide them better environment to work they will produce much better results Secondly docs and dispensor donot ve adequate time for each pt if we students can educate the pts of their illness, its complication, proper use of medicaion and what r prognostic signs he/she should aim for... etc ll be of great benefit not only to pt but also for students themselves..... they ll learn pt/disease handling.Reason of my this pt of view is:-most of pts who were referred to room 19 for inhalers did not know the proper use of inhalers Among them was a child who said he has been using inhalers for 1 yr but when i asked him to show me how to use it he was using it improperly (2)most pt coming to mayo r illiterate they cant read prescription and need help in medicine intake dosage

i agree with asma baji as there is no need of water cooler in university premises(as there is already in way to PATIALA,PATHO AND ANATOMY) IT IS WORTHWHILE IN THE OPD AND OTHER WARDS IF ms'S ego is not the hurdle

i think asmaa has pointed to very important things
first idea: Putting air coolers is better idea.... as they are more nature friendly... and they dont isolate u from rest of population as my professor used to do (sitting in his room and locking himself fearing that his AC chill is not leaking out,,,) u will need to put notices regarding maintenance (as u will normally do any way inshallah)
problem with water coolers is finding location, putting holes in walls and maintenance and possible increase in suffocation with that...(wet and humid air)
fans in corridors in brilliant idea again,,, up along the walls... both sides... as u know they work really well if u got two coolers at the start and end of corridor to bring net temp down...
second idea about queueing , u can install small printer machine with numbers being issued in the start as people turn up and then some body can shout the number... i am not sure how practical is in ur circumstances there now,,, here in uk thats waht we use,,, if the area is not queue friendly then we just plant a machine near entry and people press a button and get a ticket with number,,, in original form here in uk, the number gets displayed over a digital screen but that is far more difficult plan(if u people are willing to try that i can send u a short self made video clip of things that how it works)..
third thing that asma rightly mentioned is patient education,,, there are two ways either in person or the way i like it is use of digital media.. tv and vcr. once the donations put ur balance towards positive, then its worth putting tv and videos on patient education and disease process and prevention incluing best way using treatment like concept of inhales or disposable needs etc... u can use this tele for advice for queue making as well...
i think all three things are brilliant and i am happy that alhamdulillah current team is achieving the best possible direction. well done umar, asmaa, furqan, ayyaz welldone!

zara ur opinion is rock solid as ever. i admit my mistake. i think chasing things can be daunting and time wasting and in the mean time we can earn these things again. apart from office. as umar mentioned that MS came to office. if we can do couple of more projects like water coolers, air coolers and more sign posts or cleaning week then we can talk to him regarding getting it back and inshallah we will. rest of points i would agree with zara and rizwan bhai ... TV , CAR we can get new ones when ever it comes to that point. regards last message, i mentioned only 4 names, i did not mean to ignore rest of team at all. well done every body whoever has been part if this committment. I think its honour for u guys and honour for me to be part of such thing.

in above mail it was meant to be air coolers(not water coolers) for causing suffocation and humidity and it was inhalers and disposable needles (not inhales and disposable needs)!!! shame on my spelling after being in UK for more than 5 yaers.. oh i mean years actually that was typing error (oh! yeh! yeh! we all know that)

about the second idea of printer for nos well bhai we have that system in banks and in opd, they take the chits from patients and then announce patients' name in order they recieve the chits and then the patient enters, if we give nos then only difference would be that the person at the door would announce nos in place of patients' name anyways do explain this to us in a bit more detail, guide us a bit more about this new system and present this idea in future projects!
